Tempe takes on AI scams aimed at older residents
The City of Tempe is working to help its older residents recognize AI-powered scams, a fast-growing form of fraud that has made fake calls, texts, and emails much harder to spot than they used to be.
Older adults are among the most targeted groups for these scams and among the most likely to lose real money. The thrust is simple: slow down, verify who you are actually dealing with, and check with family before sending money or sharing account details. The Tempe Independent has the details on what the city is doing and where to find help.
